A GRAND OPENING FIT FOR A PENGUIN KING
Prizes, discounts and photos with Oswald will be among the highlights VANCOUVER, Wash. – On Wednesday, April 23, the Clark College Bookstore will hold a grand opening celebration with food, prizes, bargains and photos with the college mascot, Oswald. The celebration events will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bookstore moved into its new location in Gaiser Hall last August but waited to hold its formal grand opening until work on Central Gaiser Hall had been completed and the new bookstore entrance opened. Gaiser Hall is located on the northwest corner of the college’s main campus. Clark College is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Clark College President Robert K. Knight and bookstore staff members. The first 1,000 guests will receive reusable goodie bags filled with assorted items, coupons, and information. Guests can take part in “Spin ‘N Win,” a prize wheel featuring over 400 prizes donated by vendors. Cupcakes and coffee will also be provided. As part of the celebration, vendors will host tables and offer samples and, as a bonus, visitors will be able to have their pictures taken with the famed college mascot, Oswald. Throughout the day, store specials will be available. These include special pricing on a MacBook & iPOD Shuffle ($1199, tax included, limited quantities, bookstore is accepting pre-orders) and long-sleeved Clark crew neck sweatshirts ($7.99, limited quantities). In addition, visitors will find special Penguin bargains with 20% off all items imprinted with “CLARK” as well as 25% off all reference study aids. In anticipation of this event, the college sent over 10,000 invitations to all students who attended the college during winter quarter as well as members of the Clark College Foundation and Alumni Association. Members of the greater community are invited to join in the celebration. -30- |
