BUILDING A FOUNDATION
The Clark College Foundation welcomes 10 regional professionals
VANCOUVER, Wash.– Ten professionals representing business and education have been appointed to the boards of the Clark College Foundation, Alumni Association and Penguin Athletic Club.
"The addition of these new board members strengthens the backgrounds and experiences of our foundation board,” says Bruce Davidson, chair of the foundation board. “Rick Takach is a recognized international leader in the hospitality business. Jason Joner is a strong, local business attorney and he is a Clark College alumnus. Larry Easter's faculty experiences as an instructor at Clark are invaluable. We are grateful to have their collective talents helping to lead our foundation." Six new members have been appointed to three-year terms on the Clark College Alumni Association Board. The new Alumni Association board members are (Ignacia) Alex Gordon, Nelson Holmberg, Maya Muller, Andrew Ness, Donna Roberge-Nozel and Rico Selga. In addition, David Gross has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of the Penguin Athletic Club. Established in 1973, the Clark College Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt public charity and serves as the fundraising arm of Clark College. “The Clark College Foundation provides a margin of excellence for Clark College and its students. We do this by bridging the gap between the aspirations of the college and community and what is possible through state and federal funding. We expand student access to educational programs and services and we cultivate community, business, and governmental partnerships to support the college,” said Lisa Gibert, president and CEO of the Clark College Foundation. Gibert added, “The foundation’s goals, programs and activities support the college’s mission and vision. “The foundation’s Board of Directors reflects the voice of the community in those important efforts. Together, we help Clark College continually take ‘The Next Step’ to support student success.” -30-
